We do carry huge stocks of nuts and bolts, far more than are listed on the shop – our range of imperial is the widest in the UK.
If any items you require are not listed, don’t hesitate to contact us, either online or via telephone on 01942 520 260. We’ll be happy to help, and it’s more than likely we’ll have the item you require in stock.
Further ranges will be added shortly – watch this space!
Congratulations to Ian Douglas, a consultant at Acrastyle Ltd, who won the tool box prize for guessing closest to the number of fasteners in the display container.
There were indeed many thousands, despite most guesses being much lower – one guess was only 455!
We are members of the Wigan Borough Manufacturing Group who are to present a group stand at the Wigan Business Expo, which is to be held at the Leigh Sports Village on the 14th October.
In addition to collecting our documentation you have a chance to win a prize by guessing the number of components that we supplied in a large container. We know the number but are sworn to secrecy!
The Red Arrows flew again at the Chatsworth County Fair in memory of their team mate, Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging, who died following a crash 13 days earlier.
The air display consisted of eight rather than nine planes out of respect for Flt Lt Egging, known as ‘Eggman’ or Red Four.
The aerobatic display at Chatworth was the first public display since the tragic accident, and was a fitting tribute.
We will also be adding more items in the coming weeks, so be sure to keep checking the site!

This is a bit of a late entry, but we found these fantastic pictures taken last year and couldn’t resist sharing them with our readers.
On the 26th June 2010, Tim Garton attended the 1000 Engine Vintage Rally at Astle Park in Cheshire. There were 470 stationary steam engines on display, and they made a fascinating sight, as you can see from our pictures.
Also on display were vintage cars, tractors and motorcycles as well as military & commercial vehicles. All in all, a really entertaining day was had by all, clearly a lot of work went into the show.
If you are interested in attending in 2011 (we highly recommend it), it is held on the 25th and 26th of June 2011 and you can visit the 1000 engines website here.
We hold many different combinations of sizes of industrial fasteners to suit classic & vintage vehicles whether they be powered by Steam, Water, Gas, Petrol or Diesel.
BSF, BSW, UNF & UNC imperial threadforms, in addition to metric, are held on our online shop.
A Cheshire farmer urgently needed high tensile bolts to complete the assembly of a new front load unit onto his tractor.
One quick call to our sales team, and four UNC grade 10.9 zinc plated bolts and suitable locking nuts were available ex-stock and delivered to the farm the same day.
Thomas Smith Fasteners saves the day! We know how important it is to receive a quick response in the event of a breakdown. If you have any requirements and would like to experience our high levels of service, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
